You’ve been brought into the world at a remarkable time. The planet is in a spin and I’ve never seen anything like this before.
Covid-19 started in China and spread quickly. Very quickly. Eventually, it made its way around the world. Press and parliament played it down for a long time. Many claimed it was just a severe case of flu. Man, were they off the mark.
We're about 6 weeks into the pandemic. Crazy to think that you’ve only been alive for 3 weeks and have no idea what’s going on. I think we’re only at the beginning. I sincerely hope I’m wrong.
South Africa is shut down. Businesses, schools and shops are closed. People are prohibited from leaving their homes. Countries are in crisis and people are dying. The world feels dystopian.
Here's what I've learnt:
Life is fragile. It changes extremely quickly. Cultivate the ability to appreciate each moment, person and experience. Life is not always enjoyable, but it's incredible. We live amongst opportunity, fascinating people and beautiful places. Music and images can make you feel alive and words on a page can transport you to another world. Life is a surreal ride and it’s waiting for you to get on board.
